Happy Weekend!

We spent some time outside this week:

A long walk at Radnor Lake with friends where we admired the leaves and the picturesque scenery...

...a photo shoot before a stroll around our neighborhood...

...and an outing with Honey and D to Cheekwood, where we gazed at the model train set up outside, explored the boxwood garden behind the mansion, and tried not to pick a bud from every mum in sight.

And overheard lately:

Em:  "How's that banana?"
Ev:  "Pretty good."

***

Ev:  "Run, mama.  On your mark, get set, go.  Run, mama."

***

Ev, whenever she is ready to eat a 'nack:  "Nick, nack, patty whack, give the dog a bone."

***

Happy weekend, friends!

Catching Up....

October 18 already!  Time is escaping us, friends.

Can you spot Evelyn and her daddy?  They were included in a recent Ensworth cheerleader collage:)

Also, have y'all visited Cheekwood lately?  We have been loving the bluegrass music on Saturdays.  Also, a train is set up!  And is awesome.

And speaking of places to visit, we ventured out to Gentry's Farm in Franklin last weekend on a wild, gusty afternoon, and had a blast.  Strolled (or sprinted, if you were Evelyn) through a corn maze, investigated the chickens, swung on a tire swing, and checked out the abundance of pumpkins.

This is (sorta) old news, but Honey graciously opened her home about a month ago and helped host a lovely baby shower for Anna, one of Ev's wonderful godparents and seamstress extraordinaire.  Anna's own baby girl is due any day now, so we are all beside ourselves with excitement.  Check out the candy arrangement above on the piano; our friend Katie had the genius idea to have a "candy bar" for party favors, and beautifully arranged the treats, too!

Friday Fun

On Fridays (and lots of other days), we sometimes play with Carter (one of Ev's beaus) and his mama, Courtney.  Last week, we headed down to Edwin Warner Park, where there is a lovely little corner of meadow fenced off to create a play area, with a log shack, a dirt pile, and most importantly, old-fashioned water pumps.  Our two little cuties jumped right in....

How fun is this?
