This year, we hung around Nashville for a few days, and took Daddy to some of our favorite haunts, like the downtown library and various playgrounds around town. Then we packed up the ol' Volvo and headed south for a brief vacation in the ATL. We stopped overnight in Sewanee, ate at Dave's all-time favorite pizza place, and took Little Bit on an early-morning hike amidst some beautiful wildflowers:
The flowers are hard to see in the picture, but this whole valley was sprinkled with purple and yellow and white. Beautiful!
After our stop in Sewanee, we headed on to Atlanta, where we checked into the Adams Hotel and promptly took over my sweet sister and brother-in-law's apartment. Evelyn was very interested in unpacking MC's cabinets and checking out her yoga mat, and definitely forged a bond with her aunt and uncle over the course of our visit:
We enjoyed every bit of our time in Atlanta, but one highlight was certainly our trip to the Georgia Aquarium. It was such fun to watch Evelyn's wonder and delight as she explored the place!
People, do you see the size of this shark? It is a whale shark, and I hope I never encounter one in real life. Ever.
Finally, we stopped by for a lovely visit with Evelyn's great-aunts Rosemary and Pauline. They were all ready to see our girl and had an Easter goody bag and cookies waiting:)
After brunch at one of our new favorite spots in Virginia Highland, where MC and Eddie live, we loaded up and headed back home, (mostly) rested and relaxed and ready to face the rest of the spring semester. Hallelujah for spring break!
This does my heart good--so sweet to see Evelyn snuggle with her aunt and uncle!
