Our Last Days of Summer

I always get nostalgic in early September in Nashville, as the heat and humidity relent a bit, the days begin to shorten, and folks start mentioning apples and pumpkins and leaf piles.  Don't get me wrong--I love me some autumn, but I also dearly love all things summer, and need some time to transition from sweet days of soaking up the heat and humidity, spending long afternoons at the pool, sporting bare feet and flip-flops and sundresses, feasting on an abundance of fresh produce...you get the  picture.  So we did our best to make the most of those days...

...swimming in pink pools...

...playing in the tree houses at Cheekwood...

...wearing beautiful dresses (thank you, Anna!) and fabulous accessories...

...celebrating birthdays...

...retreating indoors when the heat overcame us...

...painting the deck (with water)...

...and strolling outside whenever we could.

Hooray for summer!  And hooray for fall.  We love it all around here:)  Happy weekend, friends!
